Children's Museum introduces ice skating
The Times News • January 2015
Diya Parikh imagined what it would be like to ice skate at a championship level Saturday at the Children’s Museum of Alamance County.
Parikh, 8, of Whitsett, scooted across the museum’s floor standing on paper plates as if she was skating across a rink. The activity was part of the museum’s “Let’s learn about ice skating!” event which continues from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 217 S. Main St., Graham.
Children’s Museum Programming and Operations Supervisor Miranda Hayes said activities included hands on crafts including making costumes and watching a video from the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships.
Holiday events at the Children's Museum
The Times News • December 2014
The Children’s Museum of Alamance County has numerous holiday events planned, including an evening with Santa Claus when kids can decorate cookies, get photos taken and create Christmas crafts.
“The Christmas season can be magical for children; I know it was for me,” said Inda L. Luciano, marketing and special events supervisor. “So here at the museum, we try to provide programs and events in December that are culturally rich, feed the children’s holiday spirit, and invigorate that magic. I think our holiday programs and events are going to be very exciting and educational for kids.”
Global Lego Exhibit Comes to Graham
elonlocalnews.com • September 2013
When you think of Louisville Sluggers and Mount Rushmore, Graham, N.C. probably doesn’t come to mind. Now they are on display, but in the form of legos. CNN says it’s a must-see exhibit and it’s only 15 minutes down the road.
The sculptures came as a surprise to some, including Lucas Ramirez, a sixth grader from Winston Salem, N.C.
“Some I think are weird. There is this one in the house where there is this guy opening up his body. It’s weird, but cool at the same time,” Ramirez said.

Got little boys? Odds are you’ve got LEGOs. Got little girls? Odds are you’ve got LEGOs, too. That is why I am thrilled that a very famous artist, Nathan Sawaya, has brought his famous art to, of all places, Alamance County. The Art of the Brick, 34 pieces of art created entirely from LEGOs, is now available for eyes in Graham, NC until the end of October.

Nathan Sawaya sees the world in rectangles. Red, white, blue, yellow and black rectangles.
Sawaya, also known as “the brick artist,” is compelled to create art with Legos. But his work doesn’t resemble child’s play.
Thirty of his sculptures will be on display at the Alamance County Arts Council’s Captain White House in Graham.
Children’s Museum of Alamance County
Mom In Chapel Hill • April 2013
The Children’s Museum of Alamance County opened last year. Located in Graham, it’s a little drive from the Triangle, but completely worth it and easily accessed right off I-40/85.
Initially it was open on weekends only but now has a 6 day a week schedule (closed on Mondays). We visited last Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was not overly crowded even with a couple of birthday party groups.
