Miranda Hayes
Programs Supervisor
Miranda was born and raised in Burlington, NC. After graduating from Williams High School, she received her BS in Dance Education from UNC-Greensboro. After teaching in the classroom for four years, Miranda decided to take her passion for education to the Children’s Museum. Her favorite part about working at the museum is seeing children use their imaginations. She loves to read, dance, and bake when she is not working at the museum.
Candace King
Director of Operations
Candace was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Graham when she was 11. She graduated from Graham High School and has her BA degree in Communications from Lenoir-Rhyne University. Her experience includes working at the Hickory Museum of Art, Cape Fear Museum of History & Science, and the Natural Science Center of Greensboro. Candace decided at age 5, she was going to be a construction worker when she grew up. Now, she gets to live out her dream daily at the museum in our Construction Building Zone! She’s obsessed with Mountain Dew slushies, fro-yo, and CMAC’s newly donated Keurig coffee maker. Candace is married to her handsome husband, Wes. They reside in Cary and have a beautiful baby named Caroline and a lab mix pup named Bree.
Inda L. Luciano
Marketing & Special Projects Supervisor
Inda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Journalism and Spanish Literature from the College of Communication, Information, and Media at Ball State University; a post-baccalaureate Professional Sequence in Graphic Design from the University of California at Berkeley; and Arts Administration studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; combined with 7+ years experience managing projects in a design and marketing environment. Her experience includes working with museums such as the Miami Art Museum, Mint Museum of Art, Levine Museum of History, and with various other cultural organizations. She is also an independent designer of illustrated notecards and other cute eco-friendly items that sell at small boutiques under her private label. Some of Inda’s favorite things to do are duet karaoke, designing cute practical things, teaching and practicing yoga, traveling, hiking through beautiful scenery, and trying different international restaurants.
Dawn Walker
Outreach Coordinator
Dawn was born and raised in Alamance County. She is married to her husband, Jerry and they have two sons, Tyler and Jordan. In addition she has Tyler’s wife, Barbara as a sweet daughter in law and a grandson named Jackson who has a sweet spot for her, his “La La”. Dawn has a long work history that includes working with the Alamance Burlington School System as a teacher’s assistant, managing the educational resource store Brain Train, and now as an essential part of The Children’s Museum of Alamance County. Dawn enjoys spending time with family at Emerald Isle, volunteering with the Alamance County Arts Council and Little Pink Houses of Hope and still counts herself an honorary Girl Scout, having attended the local girl-scout camp here on Wormranch Road.
